Dream Seeing Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam)

6 May 2016 – These have been the most incredible two weeks of my life where I first saw Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihe Wasalam) and a week later I saw Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe Salaam) with Prophet Ismaeel (Alaihe Salaam) and Prophet Isaac (Alaihe Salaam) which was an incident of Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe Salaam) life explained in Quran (Surah Ibrahim). I was trembling knowing that dream was like time travel that took me more than 1800 years back and in fact written 1400 years ago in Quran. After publishing the article that night, I finally went to sleep at 3:30am.

Around Fajr time, I saw in a dream a well spacious cave which is the size of a big room. It had a gathering earlier and I can see places on the floor where definitely more than 8 men sat with 7-10″ space from each other. There was a small fire burnt out in the left corner of the cave to either keep either light or warmth. There is a hole in ceiling as I can see light entering the cave after the fire was put out.

Cave had same angled partitions and light coming from the far left side of the roof. The oval circles on the right had more than 8 places for sitting. The red mark is where I saw myself and Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) appeared from the right side which was close to the fire faded on the left side.

In the dream, I am sitting in the corner and there is a wall on my left side but I can the see the fire on far left of the cave. A tall man with unusual attire, a long creamish white tunic with ropes that were used as a belt around lower waist with a long beard which had a bit of grey in it. His age might be around late 40s or early 50s. He is holding a wooden tree branch that is not perfectly straight but strong. He is tall and is athletic built with broad shoulders. He comes towards me and leans a bit forward. I can’t remember his face clearly but He is smiling. His face is beautiful and He seems very pleasant and kind. The first thing you feel when looking at Him is kindness like the kindness and love you observe from a very loving father. You immediately respect Him like you would respect a dear elderly relative like a grandfather. Someone who is pure, sweet, gentle and caring person. His forehead is broad, complexion is quite fair and radiant.  I am not afraid of Him and look back at Him for what He is about to say. He said “I am Jacob” and smiles again. The dream ended while I am repeating his name Jacob.

INTERPRETAION OF THE DREAM

I woke up and kept thinking that I don’t know anyone by the name of Jacob. The only reference I can find of Jacob in Meaning of dreams in Islam is Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam). His name is used as Jacob in English but again Allah has named him Yaqub in Arabic. May Allah forgive me if I am wrong. These dreams while a great honor I am not worthy of but at the same time terrifies me that I hope I won’t make any mistake in understanding them. For those guided directly will be given more punishments for not following the direct messages. I can still clearly recall names and details upon waking up so I know it happened for sure. The mystery of name Jacob is still uncovered. However the location, structure of the place and attire matches with the life of Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) which gives me hope this might be a real dream where travelling back in time might have happened.

CAVES OF BEIT GURVIN AND CAVE OF PATRIACHS

The caves at Beit Guvrin

I started searching for the cave I saw in the dream and found it after going through thousands of ancient caves in the world. This particular cave is called “The caves at Beit Guvrin” which is more than 2000 years old and is located in Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) city in Israel. I never knew Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) lived in Israel and His 11 sons were the leaders of Israel. This means these caves were present in His time. These caves are at a short distance from the Cave of the Patriarchs, the resting place for Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) and His family including His grandfather Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe Salaam) and father Prophet Isaac (Alaihe Salaam).

Cave Of Patriarchs

According to history the homes in Israel during Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) life were made from sand/mud. This might have also given me the impression it was a cave, could have been His home. Also cave of Patriarchs was an actual cave and that might have been the place I was in the dream. Nevertheless location wise the cave is very accurate as it is either Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) home or the resting place of His family of Prophets. *SubhanAllah* I have never ever heard or seen any documentary mentioning Israel or the description of the cave before and upon research it connected perfectly with sweet Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam).

ATTIRE

The attire I saw was unusual and something I have not seen before but matches clothes worn by people 2000 years ago. We imagine Prophets must have used mostly the Arabic dress we see today. However the ropes must have been used as a belt or a smaller piece of cloth. The most important hint was the wooden walking stick. I saw Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe Salaam) holding a walking stick too. The sticks seem like a strong branch of a tree and is not perfectly straight as the ones we see today.
Now even with my limited knowledge about Islam before these dreams started, I knew sweet Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) went blind from crying for Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam) so the walking stick makes perfect sense. Its such a heart breaking story that Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) loved his youngest son Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam) a lot and for selfish and foolish jealousy of His other sons, both father and son were separated for life. They both lived their whole lives in the same region but were forced to stay apart. Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam) mother Raheel passed away after giving birth to His brother Binyameen and His 10 stepbrothers couldn’t stand the fact He was loved the most and was chosen as the next Prophet. Can you imagine how much pain sweet Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) must have suffered that He went blind! How any tears it must have taken for a kind hearted being to loose His eye sight. May Allah keep them happily together in Heaven with High ranks. Ameen.

Dreams of Prophets are revelations from Allah. I will continue researching and would appreciate if anyone has any knowledge regarding these dreams but so far I found the dream confirmed Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) home Israel and that He was a very kind man who preferred simplicity. I saw a large sitting area accommodating more than 8 men. Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) had 12 sons including Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam). When I saw Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam) in my dream, the place was the same castle where He lived in Egypt. According to Quran, there was one common factor between these important Prophets and that was getting Allah’s messages through dreams. Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe Salaam), His sons Prophet Ismail (Alaihe Salaam) and Prophet Isaac (Alaihe Salaam), His grandson Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) and His great grandson Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam) all had the gift of extraordinary dreams that guided them to the future following consent of Allah. All these great and important Prophets preached the same message of oneness of God “There is no God, but Allah”

Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe Salaam), His sons Prophet Ismail (Alaihe Salaam) and Prophet Isaac (Alaihe Salaam), His grandson Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) and His great grandson Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam) are mentioned in the biggest and oldest religions in the world like Islam, Christianity and Judaism. However the message preached by all Prophets was oneness of God Allah and to ASSOCIATE NO ONE WITH ALLAH. This makes great sense as the divine power behind creation of entire universe from the Sun to microscopic creatures cannot be like humans or animals. He cannot have parents, wives, kids, uncles, cousins etc. These are relations recognized by humans for identification and eventually all these relations and relatives die while God cannot. God did not need to create humans as His family members and if He did, why would He have limited members? We are all His creations and nothing more. The most important ones among us were chosen to be His MESSENGERS i.e. PROPHETS who spread word of Allah. They were blessed with miracles to prove they were truthful about getting direct messages from Allah. Allah guides those He wants so if any one wants to stay blind and deaf to the facts and reality, we should let them be as we will be only answerable for our own deeds.
Quran (Surah Yusuf 12:5-6): Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) said to His son Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam): “O my son! Relate not your vision to your brothers, lest they arrange a plot against you. Verily! Satan is to man an open enemy! Thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of dreams (and other things) and perfect His Favor on you and on the offspring of Yaqub, as He perfected it on your fathers, Ibrahim, and Isaac aforetime! Verily! Your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise.”

Quran – Surah Al-Baqarah 2:132-133): And this was the legacy that Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe Salaam) left to his sons, and so did Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam); “Oh my sons! Allah has chosen the Faith for you; then die not except in the Faith of Islam.”
Were ye witnesses when death appeared before Yaqub? Behold, He said to His sons: “What will you worship after me?” They said: “We shall worship your God Allah and the God of your fathers, of Ibrahim, Ismaeel and Isaac,- the one (True) Allah: To Him we bow (in Islam).”

Family tree of Prophets

Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) is mentioned 16 times in Holy Quran. From the honor of being the grandson of Great Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe Salaam) to son of Prophet Isaac (Alaihe Salaam) and father of beautiful Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam). He suffered hardships since the start migrating from place to place, doing physical labor and taking care of a large family whilst preaching oneness of God, Allah. He is also said to be one of the twins born to Prophet Isaac (Alaihe Salaam) and His wife Ribqa (Rebecca).

Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) was married to Leah and later Raheel. Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) carried the message of his great forefathers and preached the oneness of God Allah throughout His life. This is confirmed in the Quran verse stated above. His message on His death bed was to only worship Allah but Jews twisted this part and led to creating a new religion. Details of Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) life is mentioned in Bible but as a Muslim, I prefer only reading and believing in Quran which has not been altered since its birth.

Quran (Surah Imran 3:65-75)  “O People of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you dispute about Abraham, while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed till after him? Here you are – those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not.

“Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah. And he was not of the polytheists. Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the ally of the believers.”

“A faction of the people of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive [it] not. O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you witness [to their truth]? O People of the Scripture, why do you confuse the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know [it]?”

“And a faction of the People of the Scripture say [to each other], “Believe in that which was revealed to the believers at the beginning of the day and reject it at its end that perhaps they will abandon their religion, And do not trust except those who follow your religion.” Say, “Indeed, the [true] guidance is the guidance of Allah. [Do you fear] lest someone be given [knowledge] like you were given or that they would [thereby] argue with you before your Lord?”

Say, “Indeed, [all] bounty is in the hand of Allah – He grants it to whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Wise. He selects for His mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty. And among the People of the Scripture is he who, if you entrust him with a great amount [of wealth], he will return it to you. And among them is he who, if you entrust him with a [single] silver coin, he will not return it to you unless you are constantly standing over him [demanding it]. That is because they say, “There is no blame upon us concerning the unlearned.” And they speak untruth about Allah while they know [it].”

Quran Surah Baqrah (2:135-140)“They say, ‘Be Jews or Christians, and then you will be guided.’ Say (to them O Muhammad), ‘Nay (we follow) only the religion of Abraham, Islam, i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone, and He was not of the al-mushrikin (those who worshiped others along with Allah).’

“Say (O Muslims), “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which had been sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Yaqub and to al-asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqub), and that which has been given to Moses and Issa (Jesus) and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam).’

“So if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided, but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So, Allah, will suffice you against them. He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. “(Our religion is the religion of Allah (Islam) and which religion can be better than Allah’s. We are His worshipers.

“Say (O Muhammad, to the Jews and Christians), ‘Dispute you with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? And we are to be rewarded for our deeds and you for your deeds. We are sincere to Him in worship and obedience (i.e. we worship Him Alone and none else, and we obey His Orders).’ Or say you that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Yaqub, and al-asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqub) were Jews or Christians? Say, ‘Do you know better or does Allah know better that they all were Muslims? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony (to believe in the Prophet Muhammad, when he comes written in their books) he has from Allah? Allah is not unaware of what you do.”

Surah Yusuf

SURAH YUSUF

Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam)’s greatest trial was living separetly from His beloved son Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam). The story after decades had a happy ending where Prophet Yaqub felt He was losing His youngest son Binyameen but had a joyous reunion with His long lost son Prophet Yusuf (Alaihe Salaam). Even Allah refers to this story as “beautiful” in Quran. Prophet Yaqub (Alaihe Salaam) was given back his eye sight and spend last years of His life with his dearest son.
